It you are getting painting estimates, It’s best to call us and request a quote by phone because we will will have questions regarding what and how you want it estimated. This is important to make certain we are estimating your project correctly.

Painting Estimates: What Type Of Information Do We Need?

For exterior painting estimates and repair estimates we need to know the following:

Are you planning to change the color on your siding or trim or both? Trim typically includes the eaves, windows, doors, corner boards, gutters, and shutters.
How much of a change in color are you planning? Are you planning a slight change, several shades lighter, several shades darker, or a complete change in color? Note: Changes in color may mean it will take 2 coats of paint to properly cover the existing color. This of course affects the cost of having your house painted, so plan accordingly.
Do you have a preference in brand of paint? The 2 brands that we recommend are Sherwin Williams or Porter Paint. We also recommend Benjamin Moore but material cost for Benjamin Moore paint will be just a little higher.
Are there any repairs that you would like for us to estimate? Typical problems associated with most homes are: Rotting occurring in window trim, window sills, door jams, corner boards, masonite siding, Louisiana Pacific Siding, deck boards, deck railing, columns, fascia boards, and soffits.

Please let us know if there are any dogs or pets in your back yard so that our estimator can plan accordingly. He will need to inspect the exterior of your home to determine how much siding and trim before compiling your painting quote.

Painting Estimates: How does the process begin?

Upon your call or submittal for painting and repair estimates, we assign your information to one of our estimators. Our estimator will call you usually within 1-3 hours to set an appointment to come by your home.
When our estimator arrives he will introduce himself and will ask you some questions regarding your painting and home improvement plans. While there he will approximate the linear footage of your eves, square footage of your siding, number of windows and doors, how easy to navigate the land while painting. Screen porches, decks, and the height of the house are all given consideration when developing and estimate. Our estimator will also check for damaged wood trim and siding and will advise you of any problems in these areas.
Our estimator sometimes leaves the quote while there, however depending on how involved the estimate is, he may give you the quote in a couple of days. Sometimes it takes longer than the first visit to properly prepare the quote and get back with you.
